A Letter to Hollywood

Specifically, to the lazy bastards in charge of casting;
STOP RECYCLING ACTORS.

For an explanation, I give you my GEEK RANT.

Its well known that I love all things SUPER. Ex; Comics, Action figures, Spandex, Movies.
Movies soon to come? "The Green Lantern" and "Captain America" both of which I avidly read the comics.

So when I find out that a new marvel or DC movie is coming out, I like to check to see who is casted.
Well this is what I found. Let us reflect back on who was cast in the previous movies, "Wolverine Origins" and "The Fantastic Four". In W.O., The snarky character known as Deadpool was played by Ryan Reynolds. In F.F., the equally snarky character, The Human Torch, was played by Chris Evans.
Ok now that we've re-established that, who, oh who will be playing The Green Lantern and Captain America?!
RYAN REYNOLDS AS THE GREEN LANTERN AND CHRIS EVANS AS CAPTAIN AMERICA. WHAT THE HELL?!
Really Hollyweird? Don't get me wrong, they both are superb actors not to mention they are babes, but they have already been established as a certain superhero! ALSO, There is a "Deadpool" movie coming out!! COME ON! The only thing I can say is that they are lucky that their different superhero personas don't ever run into each other, because then what would they do?! Split screen or re-cast? Ya probably which would RUIN it. Morons. It would be acceptable if they played minor characters, but they clearly don't.

Lets consider possible alternatives---Eric Bana, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Phillippe, Jared Padalecki, Mark Walberg, Wentworth Miller, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon, Chris Pine(yes already scored the role of Kirk, but no superhero role yet). My point is that they had options, yet they don't even try. They did a great job casting Hugo Weaving as Red Skull in C.A., that was spot on. And not to say that Ryan and Chris weren't, but the purpose of movies is to bring something to a level of reality, and I can't watch it and think oh, he's the green lantern and he's captain america. It loses that small sense of believability that I look for and enjoy.

SO IN SUMMARY USING PICTURES;

As always, thanks for reading. Comment on who you would've cast instead!

OH and if you haven't voted yet, shame to you. Unshameify yourself by voting right now on the biggest douche of the year!!!

Thank you. UNTIL NEXT TIME.

You're not fooling me.

REEEAAALLLY? If there's one thing that I find amusing its those who think they can pass for bums and beg by the offramp of the freeway...OK, let me explain something to you. One, if you have a nice coat, you CLEARLY have money. Two, if you are clean-shaven, the chances are good that you aren't homeless. And IF you are texting behind your silly sign, you are a bum in a different sense alright? What does it mean to be a true beggar? Here are the qualifications, you must be one, or all of these;
  1. Crazy
  2. Missing a limb or two
  3. Screaming about your war flashbacks
  4. Outrageously stanky that people can smell you just by looking at you.
  5. The street is your toilet and sprinklers are your shower
Here are visual examples;

HOW MANY HOBOS OWN LAPTOPS?
ANSWER: ZERO.

NOW HERE'S A MAN OF THE STREETS

Now its fair to say that the economy has screwed over thousands of people, but if you just doing it for extra scratch, then you are one lazy bastard. Get a job. You're taking away from the true homeless people, are you happy that you're an asshole and a drain on society? Way to go pal.

OH and if you're just looking to get money for drugs or alcohol, can you at least be honest? Not gonna lie, I would respect that more. Wouldn't deal you the cash, but respect is its own reward right?
THANK YOU.

SO in summary, fakers need to get off their asses. Yup.
That's it.

Hope you were entertained by my rant :)

A mind at ease.

Hey guys, once again I post. Spacing out my posts gives more for me to write about, and man I have stuff to say.
SO to begin with, my first term in college is coming to a close and I'm confident I'll make the dean's list, yay for overachieving for once! What have I been up to? Well the usual, working at my fantastic job, being studious, hanging out with my new pals.

And this one thing I had been stressing, I stress no more.
Though why is it when you pretty much rehearse what you'll say to someone, you never get out what you want to say? I knew all of what I wanted to say, but particular situations get a person anxious and scatterbrained, I know all too well. It's frustrating because what I said sounded fantastically lame, go me. Anyway to sum up, where normally I may become a train wreck, I find myself coming out of it relatively unscathed. Guess I'm just growing up, that or I've built up and immunity to this certain thing haha. I feel more relieved than disappointed because when you have something you have problems vocalizing, it weighs pretty heavy. Not to mention I have a great friendship that comes out of this. Its not hard to figure what this is about I'd imagine, but ya I'm solid and definitely more happy so no worries here. Because when it comes down to it, I'd rather know than wonder, because that is stressful as shiiit.

Also good news on the musical side, I'm in the process of composing more music and copyrighting it so I'm pretty jazzed about that! Thinking of getting a band together because I'm getting more and more into it, feeling more confident about my lyrical skills and what not :)

So yet again I want to recommend some music for your auditory pleasure. A few bands I recommend are Ludo, City and Colour, and Murder by Death. All have excellent music with a blend of fast paced tempos and then slower songs with beautiful guitar work. Highly recommend you take a listen especially if you likes the indie/alternative/folk music.

Oh OH OH! And something soooo exciting for fellow gaming nerds, www.vizzed.com. BEST. WEBSITE. EVER. You get to revisit your favorite childhood games on systems like gameboy color, nintendo 64, sega, oh yeeaaah. It is so great to waste time on and you too could be a mario kart champ like me! You're welcome.

That's all for now kids, Until next time.

Sunk in Finally.

Hello again!
So where is this title going to lead us today you may wonder???
Well its an all too familiar story friends. Here we go.

SO there I was, (yes its one of those stories) sitting in quite a different situation, just shaking from excitement and anticipation. (RHYMING!!!) :)

Anyway, as excited as I was for this particular event, at the same time I was experiencing extreme nostalgia. It was at this moment, sitting in my old high school's auditorium, looking at the stage, that I realized...I'm so far gone from high school. Never again would I do a fall musical or play on that stage again. Clearly, this fact hadn't been completely lost on me, but being there watching the first show from the audience made it all the more real. Me and my fellow alum all felt the same, full of pride but also a little sadness for that which we were no longer apart of, at least in the school sense.

The end result of the show was truly phenomenal. Not to mention, a guy who I think of like my little brother was the lead and I seriously could not of been more proud of him.

And you know, that fact in itself made my time in the drama department worthwhile; watching my younger friends grow and progress into more amazing actors. It crystallized for me, it wasn't the school I missed, it was the people. Because the friends you make in a drama department become your family and make you want to get up in the morning and get better.

In summary, I was swelling with pride after the show. They really hold their own, and made the musical I most dislike, likable! Kudos kids :)

This post is dedicated to you guys, keep being as talented and wonderful as you all are. And just know that you have all, yet again, proved you'll go far. Love you guys.

To end with something completely irrelevant to the above but oh so much geeky fun, here's a question for you; Do you like robots? Do you like robot combat? Well so do I! And that's why the following link will take you to such a program called MEDIA MONSTERS! Watch your mechanized children fight for your honor! You create them and then have a battle royal with other robits, a very nice waste of time if I do say so myself. And I do.

As I sit here...

There's a lot of things I could write about, if my thoughts didn't scramble themselves every 5 seconds.

I'll start with an update I suppose, then maybe get into something deep and interesting, we'll see how it goes...
(Haha! Unintentional rhyming.) Anyways...

As of last week, I'm employed at my college bowling alley and I have to say, it's pretty cool.
I'm catching on really fast so that makes it easier and my co-workers are really fun. Its funny that if you make your needs widely known, something will finally happen. SO there's that.

Also, as of late I've been thinking on my feelings which, like my thoughts themselves, go every which way. Very confusing stuff friends. It ranges from specific people to things I get to do, what ever right? Right.

The biggest thing I think that is keeping me somewhat grounded is music. It's always there for personal salvation, of which I've used many a time. I'm in the process of writing more songs which I know, is way exciting :) And I've been contemplating the phrase "living for the art" in terms of music. Like when I think about bands such as The Doors and Patti Smith and Bob Dylan, they didn't care if you liked their music or not, for them, they were living for the music. Which I've come to realize when I'm writing songs, I think too much on whether or not everyone will like them if I put them on a public forum. But frankly, that's not constructive to honest to god feeling, passion, grit of music. I really need not care if some of my friends think my stuff is "ok" or really whoever has an opinion about it. Because in the end, its all about the music. And truly the best songs come about without too much strenuous thought. Fuck it if it doesn't rhyme, does it mean something is the bigger question. Personal poetry are the songs that say something outright, out-loud, hell it may even scream the statement you want to make, that's being true to your artistic vision, what ever that may be to you of course. Special thanks to Professor Costa for this thought.

I guess the moral to this story kids is don't think too much, don't make too many DETAILED plans, realize you don't have to have it altogether and then maybe you can sort you shit out.

HEY look at that, something thought provoking actually came out of a random spiel.
But really, what ever. It's my blog, what ever flows or doesn't right? Right :)

Until next we blog/read.
