OK. Have to say it!

As you all know, I'm not typically an angry person.
EXCEPT I'm quickly discovering I am when it comes to words people use that are just so idiotic, I feel my IQ dropping.

These are just a few that I hear A LOT around campus and if you use this in everyday conversation, please stop.
  1. "Sick!" or "Ill"
  2. "Ballin"
  3. "Dawg"
  4. "Hella"
  5. "Fo Sho" (Yes, people still say this),
  6. I'm getting really sick of "legit". Every person and their dog is using this now.
  7. Where the fuck did "frenemies" come from?! And what dumb shit thought this was cool or original? Because it most certainly isn't.
  8. "Shorty?" Really?
  9. "Word." What's wrong with saying yes?
  10. "Tight". (GROAN)

I know most people want to be "cool" or unique, and its fair to say that slang has been around just as long as language has been. But these words are so damn annoying. It makes a person sound unintelligible in my opinion.

NOW, I can't honestly say that I'm not guilty of using two or three of these words in the past. But I don't anymore because, big surprise, I felt dumb saying them.

I had a funny conversation with my friend Lyra about phrases like this and how her boyfriend uses these words but makes them dorky, as they should be! As long as these words aren't meant to be taken seriously, it's fine. But please don't use them in excess and don't use them to try to sound cool. Because you won't. EVER.

This has been bothering me for a while, so It's great to finally vent about this.

Ya, that's pretty much it. :)

Until next time folks!
